Buy a Brick Christmas Campaign – Building Schools in Malawi & Kenya

Nelson Mandela wrote that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. It is the key to helping the world’s poorest people escape the poverty cycle. The COVID pandemic has resulted in many poor children, especially girls, dropping out of school. Neighbours Aid educates hundreds of children through our schools in Malawi and Kenya. Our schools are growing and with the increasing numbers comes the need for increased buildings and resources.

Would you consider adding Neighbours Aid’s African schools to your Christmas gift list?

A donation, no matter how small, will help us complete our Multi-Purpose Hall in Malawi and build new classrooms and a laboratory as we expand our Kenyan school to include junior high school.
DONATIONS OVER $2 TO J395 (MALAWI) AND J396 KENYA are tax deductible.
“What are you investing in now that will bear fruit for the future?” Ash Barker.

The Heart of Neighbours Aid

Recently we asked our managers what they thought Neighbours Aid’s core values were. Their answers will give you a glimpse into the hearts of some of our staff.

Our CEO John O’Hara, reporting to the board, said, “My ethos is to bring out the best in others; to open doors for others and find a way to help them succeed. I encourage our managers to be servant leaders who lead by example.”

Some quotes from our managers –
Passion is our core purpose and it gives us courage. Integrity is the foundation for everything we do. Diversity and inclusiveness are how we build a sustainable business. We show empathy and act with humility.
Helping those in need, being kind and considerate and non-judgmental to everyone.
Authentic, community, caring.
Compassion, transparency, respect.
The management team are responsible for creating an atmosphere where people will be valued, treated with respect in a positive and safe environment. In this supportive environment we are creating a harmonious workplace which has a positive flow-on to customer experience.
Helping vulnerable communities, reducing land fill and engaging community through volunteering.

At Neighbours Aid our focus is PEOPLE – our staff, volunteers and customers in Australia and our leaders and beneficiaries in our projects in Malawi, Kenya, India and Israel.

“No work is insignificant. All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.”  Martin Luther King
