Along with updated content and beautiful new photos from our projects and stores, there is also a fantastic tool developed by Charitable Recycling Australia – the Environmental Impact Calculator. With this tool, you will be able to see exactly what the environmental impact YOUR goods donation will have.
AFRICA
In July a Neighbours Aid team consisting of John and Jesma O’Hara, Gus Peni-Hudson and Rufus Meka visited the Neighbours Aid funded projects in Malawi and Kenya. It is always encouraging to meet with the African leaders and their teams and see first hand how the projects are changing Africa one life at a time. Neighbours Aid has impacted 10,000 lives in Kenya alone since our partnership with Kitale Family House of Hope began in 2007.
NEW TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Neighbours Aid is excited about the new project we are funding in North Western Bengal. A new Freedom Centre has opened its doors in Nagarakatta offering a vocational training course in hair and beauty to young people in this remote area. More courses will be made available
ABOUT NORTH WEST BENGAL
North western Bengal is home to many tea gardens (plantations) as well as elephants, tigers, rhinos and monkeys. It is also home to many poor villagers from Nepalese and Bhutanese tribes who work in the tea gardens. The new centre will provide opportunities for employment to the many young people living there.
