Flood water up over railing at Neighbours Aid Gypie Op Shop

NEIGHBOURS AID IS STANDING WITH EVERYONE AFFECTED BY THE FLOODING

Neighbours Aid sends best wishes to all our friends and supporters who have been affected by the floods in South east Queensland. Our Gympie store has been hard hit in the biggest flood the town has experienced since 1893. When the waters recede and everyone has access again, Debbie, John, Daniel and their team of amazing volunteers will be there cleaning up the mess and working to open the doors.

NEIGHBOURS AID IS STANDING WITH ALL THE GYMPIE BUSINESSES AND HOME OWNERS WHO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THE RECENT DELUGE

Our MALAWI friends have also been badly affected by the floods that have damaged buildings, destroyed crops and washed away livestock. Neighbours Aid leaders opened our school buildings to provide food and shelter for those who have lost their homes.

Our Indian partners continue to face many challenges as they seek to help some of the millions of poor rural tribal people and urban slum dwellers. Please keep them in your prayers.

PRAY OR THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE

“We have to use the pain we’ve been through to sensitise ourselves to the pain of others, the poor, the weak and the vulnerable – the widow, the orphan and the stranger. Collective suffering can move us from ‘I’ to ‘We’, from the pursuit of self-interest to care for the common good.”
(Jonathan Sacks, The Power of Ideas)
