It’s our Birthday, it’s a time to celebrate our amazing Stores!
Who would have thought from our humble beginnings in 2002 that we have grown to seven dynamic stores!
Jeanette Coron said, ‘Be grateful for Humble Beginnings, because the Next Level will always require so much more of you.’ There were two things we started with. Passion to change our world for good and a sense of adventure.
Our first store opened in Nambour. We had wonderful support from our local community. Over six weeks we cleaned, painted, built shop fittings, built sorting and work areas. It was a mammoth job! We all volunteered. It was all new for us, but from day one the store was successful. With this small step we started the journey.
Our existing large stores are:
- Nambour Neighbours Aid 2002, we moved to our present site in Howard Street in 2005.
- 2006 Caloundra Neighbours Aid was opened. We moved into a larger more accessible site in 2009.
- 2010 we opened Lawnton Neighbours Aid.
- Maroochydore Neighbours Aid was next in 2012
- 2014 we opened Mooloolaba Neighbours Aid.
- 2017 Gympie Neighbours Aid opened.
- Morayfield Neighbours Aid in 2020. Just before Covid-19.
The three elements you need for a successful Neighbours Aid Store are a passion for the mission, a dedicated group to volunteer and the right property size and location. Our successful organisation thrives because of the dedication and sacrifice of all who have participated in our journey so far. Thank you to all who have been part of our history!
