Neighbours Aid Brightening the Days of Our Volunteers and Customers.

It’s our birthday! Shining the light through our Volunteers.

What an exciting journey for Neighbours Aid. 18 years since we started with a small band of volunteers in our first store in Nambour!

World wide in 2015 over 62 million people provided their time and expertise to support non profit organisations. These volunteers provided just short of 8 billion hours of service. Remarkable!

I love the little quote by Sherry Anderson, ‘Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they are priceless.’

There is something truly special about being able to contribute to the greater good. Volunteerism has been shown to improve a Volunteers mood, decrease stress and increase strength.

Surveys have also highlighted the reasons Neighbours Aid has attracted so many volunteers. Some of them are volunteering because they know their efforts produce funds that support some of the most vulnerable in our world. Others work with us because we are an active participant in the Circular Economy purposefully recycling, up cycling and cutting down on land fill and waste. Another, major reason is volunteers feel Neighbours Aid is a safe place to volunteer in, make friends and enjoy social contact.
Today we have 355 active volunteers working in our seven stores.

If you or anyone you know would like to consider volunteering at one of our amazing stores please submit an application on our web site. You will be blessed in many ways and you will be a blessing to Neighbours Aid and our Partners.
