As we begin another year, the Neighbours Aid team wishes to thank our amazing supporters for your faithfulness, hard work and dedication in helping us change the world, one life at a time. Whether you volunteer at one of our stores or warehouses, sorting, ironing, driving the truck or serving on the counter, we appreciate you. If you donate goods for sale, sponsor a child, or give financial donations, we appreciate you. Thank you to our hard working managers and office staff. We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you also to our in-country partners in Malawi, Kenya, India, Fiji and Israel. We value our partnership with Global development Group. Together we are making a difference to many lives and communities.
In 2017, together we continued building the high school campus at Thyolo View Academy, MALAWI. By the close of the year over 443 children were enrolled in the two primary schools, with over 400 enrolled in the high school.We now grow 50% of the food needed for the project. In KENYA, 315 students were enrolled in Hope Academy with a further 18 enrolled in Year 8. Building continues on stage 2 of the new campus.
In Australia, NACS funds contributed to a healthy breakfast and morning tea program for an indigenous school in Queensland’s Gulf Country. We opened our sixth store in Gympie and expanded our Nambour Store.
