Neighbours Aid Changing Lives – Changing Communities

Recently our Malawi Director Joe Mukiwa wrote to me about the impact Neighbours Aid is making in his community.
“The partnership between Neighbours Aid and Shekinah has brought a very big impact and has greatly changed the communities at Samuti and Chickwawa in the sense that the face of these communities has completely changed. The people have benefitted from having access to clean water. The children have the opportunity for a quality education and will be able to help their parents in the future. Community members are employed and can support their families. The roads are well maintained.
I strongly believe that in 5 years’ time the community will be completely transformed. The people will be healthy because they receive medical check- ups and advice from our medical centre and they will be educated and clean. There will be a reduction in poverty rates and Samutii and Chickwawa will look so beautiful.
We want to see Shekinah growing to a level of being self – dependant with its own technical and skills development centre where boys and girls will be learning different skills with a good and beautiful hall for the community and government functions to take place. And with our partners we will look into ways of offering financial back up for needy children and women’s projects such as revolving loans schemes and social care so as to empower targeted groups economically in order to effectively promote economic self- reliance.”
