LAWNTON FUND RAISER FOR INDIA

Lawnton Fundraiser 1 Lawnton Fundraiser 2

Once again Fay Menzies and her hard working team of family members and supporters have staged an amazing afternoon tea in support of Neighbours Aid projects in Vijayawada and Kolkata.  Just under half of India’s 1.2 billion people lives below the poverty line. Many of the most affected are women and girls. For the past three years Fay and her team have raised several thousands of dollars to support literacy and vocational training programs for women and education for urban slum children. Fay is retiring this year from organising the event and we honour her for her hard work and commitment to help the world’s needy.

THANK YOU FAY. YOU TRULY EMBODY THE MESSAGE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN. ON BEHALF OF THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN HELPED BY YOUR FAITHFUL SUPPORT, THANKYOU.

Neighbours Aid Supporter Ange Nennie is using her experience as a stylist on New York’s fashion runways to help change the lives of needy people in NACS projects in India and Africa. Through her work in New York Ange became aware of the unethical practises and sweat shop conditions behind so many of our well known clothing labels. These days she can be found searching the racks at our Op Shops searching for clothing for our Instagram and Face Book fashion shoots. Watch this space for news of our next Neighbours Aid Runway Parade.

“This is the kind of fast I’m after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the work-place, free the oppressed, cancel debts. What I’m interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill clad, being available to your own families.” Isaiah the Prophet [58:6-9 MSG]
